Data Visualization by Juan Diaz

Data Visualization   When trying to create creative design to show the data statistics of "Countries with the largest immigrant population worldwide in 2020" it was hard. With such limited information I couldn't really figure where to start or how to even start. With the data also showing  over 10 Countries with the largest immigrant population worldwide it was difficult on how to really show. With that though I decided to focus on the first 5 countries that had the largest immigrant population which were U.S, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Russia and the United Kingdom. I also deicide to put the numbers under each flag to properly show the order of which country had the most immigrants from least to greatest. Right under the title I decide to put placeholder text as a way to show how big the text would be if I were to actually talk about the causes and effect of immigrants in each country. Under the text I have included two different pictures of immigrants as the way for the vie

Show/share how your data can be visualized My data can be visualized through the use of graph and inside picture of the prisoners conditions.   What design(s) are influencing your work? It not really designs that is influencing work but the different picture taken and capture that show the conditions of Rikers. Furthermore the story of Kailef Browder and how he committed suicide because of being locked for 700 days in prison. This is what's influence my work for prison mistreatment. What fonts are you considering?                     Evil Typewriter                                             Typerwriter font Roughs: What colors are you considering? What design motifs are you considering? A design motif I am considering is a silhouette to properly show the mistreatment. Or I may not use motifs entirely  Is this piece for a specialized audience and how would that impact your design? This design is made specifically for mayor and govern of New York to actually spread awareness of

Social Justice by Juan Diaz

Social Justice One social justice issue that I am interested in is prison mistreatment. Their are hundreds and thousands of people in prisons and in jail cells that have been stuck in therefor years waiting for their trial. This is more known in Rikers island as people are still there confined and restricted from their freedom especially people who are actually innocent. The people in the prisons are restricted from their right of due process and their sixth amendment right.

What is Editorial Design? by Juan Diaz

Editorial Design Basics by Design by Numbers In the video "Editorial Design Basics" by Design by Numbers it first describes the need of a grid system. A grid system is a structure of a page that is made the same way. Besides the consistency of the grid it is also necessary and important  to have consistency of elements as well in each page. A example being figuring out the hierarchy for the layout. If the hierarchy is confusing then the layout will be inconsistent and confusing. This can lead to people and viewers to not read or even notice your design. When it comes to hierarchy in books you typically see the grids at work with capitalized bold titles and illustrations or design on one side of the page. With this hierarchy on the books and following these type of rules you can easily capture the attention of readers making them more focus on your content. When the design or the background of the page is simple or just a simple color you can play around with the layout. You

What is Communication Design? by Juan Diaz

What is Communication Design? Communication design is a term that has a variety of different concepts of design like advertising, branding, web design and more. They different concept appear everywhere in our everyday life. For a communication designer they create visual messages by combining communication with art and technology. The field of communication design is endless with the everchanging style of technology changing the way design is incorporated and used. As stated before adverting and web design are a part of the channels of communication design. Some other besides the other two include Emails, Blogs, Social Media. These different channels change one way or another which is why it is important to have some skills necessary to have a communication design degree. Some skills require technical skills and also problems solving skills as well. The point of communication design is to develop the relationship between the viewer and visuals. Before the company or the person wants to

Motion Graphics: Logo

Image
Motion Graphics: Logo When it came to actually try to animate my design it was quite difficult as I didn't really like my sketch of the storyboard for the animation. So I decide on a bouncing type of animation with the glasses leg and the main frame of the glasses. To properly make the 8 sec I also decide to start the animation small from the middle to give it enough space for all the symbol and object to bounce around. This was also done to have enough time to make the symbols bigger with every bounce done. Although I feel that I could have done better with making a proper and more professional animation. As for the new revised version of my design(the one that is shown on the blog) I have done a few minor changes.  For one I have speeded up the speed of the rectangle for the background to make it enlarge faster. I cut around 3 sec from the previous draft to make it faster. I also decide speed up the appearance and enlargement of my logo name "Diaz Archives" to make it
